Adding to the special occasion was the arrival of a remarkable group of walkers led by the Northern Ireland Veterans Commissioner, alongside veterans and Air Ambulance supporters who were completing the final stages of a six-day sponsored walk across Northern Ireland.

The group arrived in Coleraine from Castlerock before continuing on to Portstewart, where they would complete their journey.

Along the way, they twere provide with lunch at Brunch It in the town centre and stopped for photographs with members of the ever-popular Rock Choir, much to the delight of visitors and shoppers who were enjoying the day's festivities.

The sponsored walk marked 110 years since the Battle of the Somme and aimed to raise funds and awareness for two outstanding charities - the Somme Association and Air Ambulance Northern Ireland.

Over six days, participants walked an impressive 60 miles across the six counties of Northern Ireland, reflecting on the sacrifices made by those who served while supporting causes that continue to make a significant difference to lives today.

Their arrival in Coleraine added another meaningful dimension to an already memorable day in the town centre, bringing together community spirit, remembrance, music, family fun and fundraising.

Coleraine Connect was delighted to welcome the walkers to the town and wishes them every success with their fundraising efforts.
