A new, more flexible way to pay for parking is coming to Coleraine, and the good news is you’ll only pay for the time you use, subject to a one-hour minimum charge!

From Sunday 8 November 2026, RingGo will become the new cashless parking provider for Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s 17 charged car parks, including Council-operated paid car parks in Coleraine.

The change will make it easier for shoppers, visitors and those working in the town centre to manage their parking without having to guess how long they’ll need.

One of the biggest benefits of the new RingGo service is its ‘Start-Stop Parking’ feature.

We’ve all been there - paying for two hours of parking when we only need 45 minutes, or rushing back to the car because our ticket is about to expire.

With RingGo, you can:

• Start your parking session on the RingGo app when you arrive.

• Enjoy your time in Coleraine, whether you’re shopping, meeting friends for coffee or running errands.

• Stop your session when you return to your vehicle.

• Pay for the actual time parked, subject to a minimum charge of one hour.

It’s a more flexible way to park, particularly if you’re not quite sure how long your visit will take.

Prefer paying with coins? You still can!

There’s no need to worry if you’d rather stick with cash.

Traditional coin payments will continue to be accepted at all Council car parks, so motorists can choose whichever payment method suits them best.

Getting started is straightforward.

If you’re new to RingGo, simply download the free app, register your details and add your vehicle.

If you’re already a RingGo user, you can enter the relevant car park location code, confirm your vehicle details and start your parking session.
