A convoy of classic Minis, live music and family fun combined to make Coleraine Connect's Classic Mini Day another huge success in the town centre on Saturday.

Organised in partnership with the Norn Iron Classic Mini Club, the event attracted large crowds who gathered to admire some of the most iconic vehicles ever built as they made their way into Coleraine in a colourful convoy before going on display in the town centre.

The event supported Charis Cancer Care and held special meaning as it honoured the memory of Coleraine woman Anita Culbertson. She was the much-loved sister of Norn Iron Classic Mini Club member Mark Pearson, who sadly passed away earlier this year.

Participants celebrated their love for classic Minis while raising funds for a charity that gives essential support to local families affected by cancer.

Visitors enjoyed the opportunity to get up close to the beautifully restored vehicles while soaking up the fantastic atmosphere created by live entertainment from the Rock Choir and local singer Jamie Sloan. Family-friendly activities also helped ensure there was something for all ages to enjoy throughout the afternoon.

The event's success reached far beyond the town centre. Videos featuring the convoy of classic Minis and a performance by the Rock Choir have already attracted more than 200,000 views on social media, showcasing Coleraine to a huge online audience and highlighting the brilliant atmosphere that visitors experienced on the day.

Coleraine Connect Chair Jonny Fielding said: “The atmosphere in the town centre was fantastic and it was wonderful to see so many people coming together to enjoy the event while supporting a very worthy cause.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Norn Iron Classic Mini Club, the performers, volunteers and everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success. Events like this not only bring people into the town centre but also showcase everything positive about Coleraine."

The Classic Mini Day marks Coleraine Connect's fourth highly successful event of the year, following a series of popular town centre initiatives aimed at supporting local businesses and increasing footfall.
